I’ve known people in my life
Who did everything that was right
They never challenged authority
They never skipped a day of church
They never told a white or black lie
They never took a sip of whiskey
They never took a drag on a cigarette
They never even smelled a burning reefer
They never went inside a wild bar
They never said shit when it was on their shoe
They never took or gave a punch
They never skinny dipped on a date
They never raced down the Canyon Road
They never cheated on their taxes
They never broke a comfort zone
They were born ready for resurrection
And then there was me in my younger years
Who worshiped my one true God… Cold beer
