Unnamed And Unexplained
I’m a man like so many
With a mask welded to my face
Secretly searching for anything
Unnamed and unexplained
Hoping for a glimpse
Of a virgin something
That is unpolluted by religion and tradition
Wondering if there is a secret door
That hides white on white thoughts
Were criticism has never been given
Where unconditional love
Is the only law
Where sin does not exist
Except as a myth
In a faded story
Of a past dream
In fear of punishment I remove the mask
And see the real fear in my past…
Of smelling darkness in daylight
Of shedding blood without pain
Of hearing thunder without a storm
Of being deceived by my own greed
Of the endless last breath
Before an un-forgiven death
Of a living suicide as I watch others fly
