The Bullet Proof Of Youth
The bullet proof of youth didn’t mix with our ego
As we raced to the lake on that winding canyon road
It was a place where adrenaline tempted fate
Where bets were made and wagers paid
As we tried to impress the opposite sex for sex
In hotrod Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes
The bullet proof of youth didn’t mix with our ego
As we raced to the lake on that winding canyon Road
Each summer a few crashed through the guardrail
On that narrow road dividing heaven from hell
But our need for speed was an addiction
So we couldn’t resist the temptation
The bullet proof of youth didn’t mix with our ego
As we raced to the lake on that winding canyon road
The Devil whispered rod it, put your foot in it
Your bulletproof, don’t be a chicken shit
Have another beer and a shot of whiskey
You’ll lose the race if you’re a pussy
One day I wrapped my Mustang around a tree
Steve died and I ruptured my liver and spleen
Now I’m 60 something driving up the Canyon Road
Tourists giving me the finger because I’m driving slow
As I’m looking for ghosts and my lost ego
