Carnage

Carnage

                                    Once I held myself hostage

             Until I burned every page

Then I ran from the carnage

Of the book I read so many times before

Then I opened the smoking door

                      To find my sleeping mind

That begged me to call a truce

Then untie my noose

So I danced across the desert

As crows sang in concert

                                    About the solution

           For my flawed evolution

But I chose to disagree

                                    And called myself crazy

          As I begged for electricity

   To fry my brain

I wonder

Why they call me insane

I wonder

If my name is my real name
