Without The Weight Of Anything
By the time you read this… I’ll be gone like dust in the wind
Truthfully I’ve been counting days… Since you told me you were late
That was back in 98… At Black Bear Lake… Tears on your face
I did the right thing… I gave you a diamond ring
I got a job I hate at the factory… I took good care of my family
They heard me call you honey… But now our little sweet thing is 18
Flying off to the University… Now it’s finally time for me
To find what I’ve been missing… To just feel free making love to me
Free to do what I please… Free to do wild and crazy things
Free to do nothing or everything… Free to chase my lost dreams
Just me living free… Without the weight of anyone or thing
I never let you see me dream… In my fantasies of free
You never saw me reading maps… Never knew I was making plans
I’m so sure you thought… My past life of free was gone
But you were so wrong… Because I’ve always been long gone
To find what I’ve been missing… To just feel free making love to me
Free to do what I please… Free to do wild and crazy things
Free to do nothing or everything… Free to chase my lost dreams
Just me living free… Without the weight of anyone or thing
