Letting Her Drive Me Crazy

Letting Her Drive Me Crazy

                             Weekends at 19

No place we had to go or be

So I’d drive her… Through the country

…Letting her drive me crazy…

                   I was sure… I was in heaven

She was a lover and friend

We tried to bend the weekends

                                            Away from the big city

                                                         In my old flatbed Chevy

We’d turn the radio on and sing along

                                         Everything she did

                                                      Pushed me over the edge

She was… So free… So sexy

                    So willing… To tease me

She’d hang her head out the window

Letting her long blond hair blow

She’d let the wind… Move her lips

Like it was her first kiss

The music and speed was magic

                    We’d stop… On a hidden dirt lane

                                      Without guilt or shame

                                               We’d… Touch… Hold… Kiss

                              Then watch the sunset

                     We’d drive into the night

With her hand on my thigh

Singing along… To our favorite songs

Ready to face the city clutter

With all the lights and city thunder

Knowing… We had six more days

                                                           Till we could slip away

So I could drive her… Through the country

…Letting her drive me crazy…
