Shut Up And Cowboy Up
My dad could wear gloves out in a week
Funny thing, he expected the same from me
He said nothing gets done while you sleep
One hot humid day before I could shave
I threw my shovel heading for the shade
I yelled I’m not your personal slave
When I was done flapping my tongue… I got an earful from a man I love
He yelled, shut up and cowboy up… Quit pissing like a half grown pup
When I was on the football team
I had a teenage a half-baked dream
Of a scholarship at the University
But when the coach saw me loafing
Then getting flagged for trash talking
Then tossed out for bitching and moaning
When I was done flapping my tongue… I got an earful from a man I loved
He yelled, shut up and cowboy up… Quitting pissing like a half grown pup
I got a good job at the factory
With over time seven days a week
It left me with no time to dance or drink
My boss caught me sound asleep
In the restroom at the factory
I claimed I was sick, he laughed at me
When I was done flapping my tongue… I got an earful from a man I loved
He yelled, shut up and cowboy up… Quit pissing like a half grown pup
Now I own my own company… It seems all I do is give the speech
